Our current view of the service

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 25 June 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Bright Orthodontics Widnes is in Widnes and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 15 staff, of which there were 2 orthodontic specialist dentists, 4 dental nurses, 4 orthodontic therapists, 1 HR lead, 1 receptionist, 1 treatment coordinator, 1 cleaner and the practice manager. On the day we spoke with the practice manager, lead orthodontic specialist dentist, the HR lead, 1 orthodontic therapist and 2 dental nurses.

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 24 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included:
“Amazing staff I would recommend to anyone”.
“Always a pleasure to attend. Friendly staff and involves my daughter in discussions and plans.”
“All staff have been helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable”.
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
“I have always been made to feel welcome and comfortable. The staff are very professional”.
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.
“Staff are always very friendly and professional. My treatment has been nothing but excellent. I have already recommended this dental surgery to multiple people”.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
“The surgery was very good at making my son feel at ease and they have provided an excellent service. Would thoroughly recommend this surgery”.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
“The service and staff are excellent. The practice staff are always welcoming and make my son feel at ease. Highly recommend the other patients looking for treatment for their children.”
