We carried out an announced inspection of Tessa Jowell GP Surgery on 17 and 19 June 2025. Tessa Jowell GP Surgery is a GP practice and delivers services to approximately 15,572 patients under a contract held with NHS England.
The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make up of the practice area is 57.76% White, 22.38% Black, 7.66% Mixed, 7.63% Asian and 4.57% Other.
Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 6th decile (6 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others.
This inspection considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.
At our previous inspection in August 2023, we found the practice was in breach of regulations regarding safe care and treatment, and good governance. At this inspection, we found the practice had made improvements and is no longer in breach of regulations.
