One to One Community Care

Date of assessment: 6 February to 19 February 2026. This service is a domiciliary care service providing personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. They provide support to people with a range of different needs including older people, people with dementia and people with physical disabilities. At the time of the assessment 21 people were using the service who were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who uses a domiciliary service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care.

This service was previously rated requires improvement and was in breach of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment, and the service was no longer in breach of these regulations. At this assessment we reviewed the key questions of Safe, Effective and Well-led and rated the provider good overall.

Care records were completed in collaboration with people and their relatives. People felt included in decisions around their care. Care plans included person-centred details about people needs and included people’s areas of interest and history.

Staff received training to support them to do their jobs well. Staff felt supported in their roles and spoke positively about working for the service. Recruitment was completed safely and record keeping in this area had improved.

Changes in people’s health needs were recognised and addressed quickly by staff. Professional support was accessed when required.

Record keeping and governance at the service had improved. Records were well-organised and included important information about peoples support needs and preferences. Regular governance and auditing of the service took place and managers had implemented trackers to support their actions in these areas.

People and their relatives spoke positively about the service. People told us they felt safe and cared for by the staff who visited them. A relative told us, “[Relative] absolutely adores them [carers] and feels safe with them.” People and their relatives told us they could speak to managers and staff and were confident if they had any issues these would be addressed. A relative told us, “They have been really good, I have the manager’s number so any queries I can contact them and they get back to me quickly. They keep me informed.” People and their relatives spoke positively about the approach of staff. A person told us, “Sometimes we just have a natter which is nice.” A relative told us, “My [relative] always seems to know who is coming (carers) and looks forward to their visits.” People and their relatives had access to their care records and told us these were accurate and up to date. A relative told us, “Yes, care records are in the house and they are always up to date.”
