Shakespeare Road PMS is a GP practice located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The practice has a branch site at Ridgeway Medical Centre in East Herringthorpe, Rotherham. The practice delivers services to 5,900 patients under a contract held with NHS England.
The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make-up of the practice area was 70.5% White, 20% Asian, 4.3% Other ethnicities, 2.8% Black and 2.3% Mixed. The practice was made up of a multicultural patient cohort, combining Asian, Middle Eastern, Slovakian, Czech and Romanian cultures. Alongside this there were patients from the Traveller and Roma communities. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 1st decile (1 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. The practice population was mainly made up of patients between the ages of 18 – 64. The practice had a relatively low number of patients aged over 65 compared to local and national averages.
We had carried out an assessment and rated this practice under our previous methodology in May 2022. The practice was rated Requires Improvement overall and for the key questions of safe, effective and well-led. Caring and responsive were rated as good. This assessment was carried out to follow up on the previous assessment ratings. The practice has been rated as Good overall and for all key questions.
Since the last inspection, the practice had made improvements and is no longer in breach of Regulation 12 HSCA (RA) Regulations 2014 Safe care and treatment.
