During a routine inspection

During this inspection we spoke with five people receiving support from Ambassador HomeCare and with the relatives of another six people. People told us that staff were respectful and treated them or their family members with courtesy. One person told us, 'They're brilliant, I'm so satisfied.' Another person said, 'I'm very happy. The service is excellent in every way.' One relative stated, 'It's fantastic. They look after [their relative] very well.'

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. The provider or a senior carer would visit the person and carry out an assessment to ensure that the service could meet the person's needs. The provider would carry out the care for the first few calls which enabled detailed care plans to be drawn up.

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. All five care staff members we spoke with were knowledgeable about their role and responsibility in minimising the risks of cross infection.

The provider had systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided which included visiting people in their homes to obtain their views.
