During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 11 June 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Most risks were appropriately assessed and managed.
Recruitment policy reflected current legislation.
The practice needed to improve its medicine dispensing process.
Waterside Dental Health also known as Mouth Dental is in Canary Wharf in the East London of Tower Hamlets and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice is predominately a referral centre for specialist dental services in periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics and oral surgery.
There was step-free access to the practice. Car parking spaces including dedicated parking for disabled people were available in public car parks located near the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 18 staff, of which there were 9 dentists, 3 trainee dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 2 receptionists, 1 treatment coordinator, 1 administrator and the practice manager. Dentists with special interest in endodontics, orthodontics and periodontics visited the practice on varying days each month. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 2 receptionists, 1 treatment coordinator and the practice manager.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
