Children received personalised care that was centred on their individual needs, preferences and experiences. Staff worked closely with children and those involved in their care to understand how they communicated, what was important to them and how best to support their wellbeing. Care plans and risk assessments reflected children's individual needs and preferred ways of regulating emotions, and care, routines and support were adapted accordingly. Children, families and carers were actively involved in planning and decisions about care, with staff encouraging meaningful choices, adapting communication approaches and responding to feedback. The provider demonstrated a clear commitment to listening to children and using their views and experiences to shape care and support.

Person-centred Care

Regulations met

Staff made sure children were at the centre of treatment choices and responded to changes in need in partnership with those involved in their care. Care planning included what they liked, disliked, how they understood their health needs. The service listened to children to understand how they communicated, what helped them regulate and what was important to them in day-to-day life. The environment and routines observed on the visit reflected these personalised needs.

Risk assessments described tailored visual supports, sensory approaches, flexible routines, planned transitions and involvement of family in decision making.

Records we reviewed, showed ongoing family involvement and structured planning around contact and overnight stays.

The provider responded to concerns and feedback.
