All Inspections

During a routine inspection

Chear is an independent organisation that assesses and manages hearing in children and babies. At the time of the inspection two specialists worked for the service. The service opened two days per week.

A relative of a patient who used the service told us that 'they are very good, very friendly.' They also said that the patient after the intervention 'is chattier.' The provider worked in partnership with other professionals to ensure continuity of care. We noted that the feedback received from other patients was positive.

The provider ensured that patients' rights and dignity were respected and their individual needs were met.

Patients were aware of how much they were expected to pay and what service would be provided for the fee paid.

Patients were protected from abuse. The provider had suitable policies and procedures in place. Staff were aware of how to recognise signs of abuse and what to do if this was suspected.

The provider carried out suitable checks on staff employed for the purpose of carrying out the regulated activity and staff were suitably qualified. This meant that patients who used the service were protected from being supported by inappropriate or unqualified staff.

The provider had arrangements in place to ensure records were kept secure. We noted that individual records were fit for purpose.
