We found that people were treated with respect and dignity, and were supported in promoting their independence. Relatives said care workers talked with the person using the service, and involved the person in the care being provided to them.

We found there were systems to assess and monitor quality and risk at the service. These included phone calls and visits to people who use the service and their relatives, to check on satisfaction with the service. Changes were made where requested.

Effective recruitment and selection processes were in place and appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work. Staff told us they felt supported by the manager and confirmed they received appropriate training for their role. Relatives told us the manager visited regularly to help with the care and support new care workers. 'The manager is very hands-on,' one relative said. We found that people were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care safely and to an appropriate standard.
