During a routine inspection

The care, treatment and support available was understood by people using the service or people acting on their behalf. People's views were taken into account, recorded in a personalised care and treatment plan, and acted upon. The privacy, dignity and independence of people using the service was upheld. One relative told us "the staff are very hot on dignity and respect."

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that met the service user's individual needs and ensured their safety and welfare. There were suitable arrangements in place to manage forseeable emergencies that were understood by staff.

People using the service were safeguarded from abuse. Staff had successfully completed safeguarding training and accurately described the steps they would take to identify abuse and respond to any allegations of abuse.

There were effective recruitment processes in place to ensure that people employed by the service were of good character, and had the necessary skills, qualifications and experience to do their job. Staff felt supported in their roles, and provided evidence of induction training and continuing professional development.

The quality of the service provided was monitored and reviewed. The provider had arrangements in place to seek the views of people using the service, those acting on their behalf, and staff. People's views were taken into account, and where necessary, changes were made to the treatment or care provided.
