The Conkers is registered to provide accommodation and personal care for up to seven people with learning disabilities and other complex health needs. The home is a one storey, purpose-built building with a separate garden. At the time of inspection seven people lived in the service.

We found the following examples of good practice.

People who used the service were supported to stay safe from the risk of COVID-19. They were helped to feel assured about regimes, such as for visiting and vaccinations, with pictorial information and easy read guides.

Staff were kept up to date with information and guidance in a range of ways, including through use of an app on their mobile phones.

The service was clean, hygienic and well maintained with robust cleaning schedules in place.

There were robust procedures in place to support visiting and prevent the spread of COVID-19 and testing procedures were regularly carried out in line with government guidance.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was being utilised in line with government guidance to keep people safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
