During a routine inspection
The agency was operational and we spoke to one person using the service.
They said they were very satisfied with the service. 'They work efficiently. I was introduced to the carer and was very comfortable with them from the beginning. I am happy with the support and look forward to my carer coming every day. I get the same carer which I appreciate. She knows me and my little ways, she's first class'.
We found the person had expressed their views and values and had been involved in making decisions regarding their care and support. Their care and support was planned according to their wishes and choices.
People were cared for by staff that were of good character. We found arrangements were in place for the protection of people using the service. We were told, 'I have never had a problem. They treat me how they would like to be treated, that is with respect. I feel safe as she (staff) always check the security of my home before she leaves making sure windows and doors are locked'.
Quality monitoring systems helped to ensure people received a safe and effective service. 'The manager always keeps in touch to check I am happy with things. I feel I have a good relationship with him. Chorcare is one of the best agency's I have used and I've had a few. They show they care and are caring'.
