Kindness, compassion and dignity
Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included “Wonderful dental practice with great practitioners who receive you with a smile and really care about your wellbeing. The service is professional and friendly, with a reminder system that ensures I stay on top of my dental care. The advice I’m given is always informed and tailored to my preferences. Honestly they making going to the dentist a pleasant experience.”
Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.
Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.
Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.
We were provided with a patient survey. Patient survey results highlighted the positive efforts made by the practice to improve both patients’ oral health and their overall experience. Feedback from patients had been actively considered and implemented; for example, updates were made to the patient questionnaire, and improvements were carried out to the toilet facilities.
People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
