Date of Inspection: 14 to 16 April 2026.
St Mary’s Nursing Home is a care home which provides nursing care to people. Most people move to the home following discharge from hospital. Some people living at St Mary’s Nursing Home lived with dementia, or had complex health needs. The home presented as clean and areas of the home were being refurbished at the time of the inspection.
Staff understood how to support people effectively and promote their safety. Staff were aware of each person’s communication preferences and respected people’s individual choices and wishes.
Staff felt confident raising concerns about people’s safety, and senior staff regularly monitored the quality and safety of the care being provided. Staff worked well with partner organisations to support people’s rights and ensure their needs were met.
The management team planned to strengthen communication with people, relatives and staff so the culture of the home continued to reflect what mattered to people, and to make sure governance checks promptly identified and improved people’s outcomes.
