Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 10 September to 20 October 2025 with on-site visits taking place on 10 September and 15 September 2025.
Naylorsfield and Hartsbourne is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 8 people with mental health needs, a learning disability or autistic people. At the time of the assessment there were 5 people living at the service. This was a responsive assessment due to concerns the Care Quality Commission received regarding safe care and treatment. The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. All accidents, incidents and complaints had been recorded and were thoroughly investigated. Staff understood the importance of supporting people in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and encouraged people to make their own day to day choices. Staff supported people to achieve their individual goals. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. People’s care records were detailed and guided staff on how to support people safely. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people have respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
People's experience of this service
People and their loved ones were positive about the quality of their care and support. They felt safe and were fully involved in planning their care and understood their rights. People said staff treated them as individuals and it was clear from our visit that people were involved in their care in the home. People and their loved ones felt able to complain and they were confident action would be taken, and improvements would be made.
