Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 7 July 2026 to 10 August 2026. Hampton Medical Centre is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 11,260 patients under a contract held with NHS England. The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make-up of the patient population is 80.54% White, 2.37% Black, 9.35% Asian, 5.04% Mixed and 2.71% Other. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 9th decile (9 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the practice, the context the practice was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report. We undertook this assessment due to the time since we last inspected this location.
People's experience of this service
People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the practice. Representatives from the PPG described how managers made positive changes because of feedback, such as, removal of pictures that patients found disturbing from the waiting area. The practice had also listened to the opinions of the PPG when deciding on services it intended to discontinue.
