The service had a shared vision, strategy and culture. This was based on transparency, equity, equality, human rights, diversity, inclusion and engagement. Staff and leaders understood the challenges and the needs of people and their communities.
Leaders monitored and reviewed progress against the delivery of their strategy. The service was aware of challenges which may affect their service, such as recruitment and contingency planning. They had plans in place to ensure succession planning as well as contingencies for fire and flood within the premises. Staff and leaders actively promoted equality and diversity. They demonstrated a positive and compassionate listening culture that focused on learning and development. All staff we spoke with told us they felt very supported by both the GP partners and the practice manager and felt able to raise concerns and suggestions for improvement. Staff reported feeling listened to and described the team as supportive and cohesive. They spoke highly of management and the support provided, and consistently described a positive and happy working culture with opportunities for learning and development..

Governance, management and sustainability
Governance systems were generally in place; however, some gaps were identified in the oversight of staff training and policies, which could impact the consistent use and sharing of information relating to risk, performance, and outcomes.
The providers governance systems were not fully effective with regards to comprehensive audits for training. The provider told us that they would move to a ‘rolling rota’ for training so that all staff received training suitable for their role in line with training policies. This would ensure that these rolling training rota's assured them that all training was up to date.
However, staff were well supported to carry out their duties by leaders. Policies were up to date and were comprehensive in the scope of general practice. Staff were made aware of policy changes and updates in team meetings so that they could understand and take part in policy making decisions.
The practice manager took part in meetings with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and other bodies to ensure information and guidance was up to date.
