Reports

Inspection carried out on 3 January 2014

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service and five members of staff. We also reviewed four peoples treatment and support records and looked at staff recruitment information.

People told us that they were happy with the level of care that they had received. They also told us that they had been given sufficient information regarding their treatment and about substance misuse. One person said The staff explain to you how alcohol can damage you, and that you cant always see the damage until it is too late. They also told us that they had received blood tests to make sure that they were healthy and able to start their medical treatment for alcohol dependency.

Another person told us that they had made good progress at the service and had completed an action plan with one of the staff to show how they could improve their life. They also told us they had received medical treatment for their drug dependency and had regular reviews with the doctor and their support worker. This was to make sure their treatment was working and that they stayed in good health.

We found that people were involved in the planning of their care and received treatment and care that met their individual needs. We also found that the provider operated a recruitment system to ensure that staff were able to work with vulnerable people. We found that people were safeguarded from the risk of abuse and that the provider had the appropriate systems in place to assess and monitor the level of service received.
