Caring
We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.
This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
Through observation and evidence from the NHS Friends and Family Test we found staff treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
The service had arrangements to promote people’s privacy. The service performed below national averages in the results of the 2025 National GP Patient Survey; however the results were not significantly below. For example:
75% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at treating them with care and concern, compared to a national average of 86%.
85% of respondents to the survey stated that during their last appointment they had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional, compared to a national average of 93%.
81% of respondents to the survey stated that during their last appointment the healthcare professional was good at listening to them, compared to a national average of 87%.
The results from the NHS Friends and Family Test for March 2025 were positive showing 41 out of 58 respondents rating the service as good or very good.
The service told us that it had agreed actions to improve people’s experience, for example, communication skills training for staff and increasing the number of GP appointments compared to ANP appointments.
