Date of assessment: 31 March to 23 April 2026. Centred Healthcare is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living in their own homes, including those with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism, dementia, and physical disabilities. At the time of inspection 3 people were receiving care and support from the agency. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This was our first assessment of this service.
An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group.
The provider was in breach of legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment and governance. Incidents were not always escalated appropriately or followed up with health or social services. We identified gaps in governance systems such as regular audits and staff competency checks. Records were sometimes incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated for example, recruitment checks and risk assessments.
However, people felt safe with carers, and reported being treated with kindness and dignity. Care plans and risk assessments were generally person-centred and involved individuals and their families.
We asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment. Following the assessment the provider submitted a comprehensive action plan setting out how each assessment finding will be addressed, including clear timescales and named leads for every action. This included strengthening governance and oversight through the implementation of a digital care management system.
