During a routine inspection

We were not able to speak to people who use the service about their experience; however, we spoke with the relatives of three people and reviewed three people's care and support plans. People we spoke with told us that they and the person who uses the service were involved in planning the care and support provided. A person's relative said "we were all involved in putting the care plan together, our relative needs support with their decisions and the support worker does very well with this".

We found that people's individual needs were assessed and that support and care were planned and delivered to meet their needs and promote their independence. One relative told us "the support has changed our lives and the life of our relative, they are a changed person".

We found that staff completed a comprehensive induction and the relevant training to meet people's needs. Staff were aware of the risks to people's safety and welfare and understood their responsibilities to safeguard people from abuse.

We found that people were asked about the quality of service they received and there were suitable arrangements in place to identify and manage risks to people who used and worked in the service.

In this report the name of a registered manager appears who was not in post and not managing the regulatory activities at this location at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time.
