Caring
We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity.
In preparation for this assessment, CQC received feedback from patients through our Give Feedback on Care service. Feedback showed people felt the service provided excellent overall care and clinical quality. Comments included, “I see the same GP for continuity”, “I am satisfied with my experience with the doctors who are professional and listen to my needs”.
The National GP Patient Survey data demonstrated 92% respondents described their overall experience of the GP practice was good, compared with the national average of 77%.
There was a culture of kindness and respect at the service. The service treated people with empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. A member of staff told us, “I love the job and passionate about looking after people”. The National GP Patient Survey data demonstrated 94% respondents felt they were treated with care and concern during their last appointment which was above the national average.
Arrangements were in place to promote patients’ privacy. For example, private areas were available if patients wanted a quieter area, chaperones were available, privacy curtains were in clinical rooms and there was a breastfeeding and baby changing rooms for mothers and children. Within the building, we found the consultation rooms were away from the main reception area, and conversations could not be overheard in the corridors.
