Caring

Good

15 June 2026

We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.

This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.

The service had arrangements to promote people’s privacy, for example during clinical appointments and during telephone calls. Staff we spoke with gave examples of how they ensured people’s dignity and treated them with compassion. For example, people with dementia were called on the day of their appointment to remind them.

The service performed in line with and above national averages in the results of the 2025 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people felt they were listened to and had confidence and trust in the health care professional they saw or spoke to. For example, 94.8% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at treating them with care and concern, compared to a national average of 85.6%. Feedback from people was positive. People told us they were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity, and their privacy and confidentiality was maintained. This was mirrored in feedback from a care home representative.
