Village Surgery

Village Surgery is a GP practice and delivers services to 4850 patients under a contract held with NHS England. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the fourth decile (4 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others.

This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. For example, according to the National General Practice profile data; the practice had a higher-than-average male patient population aged between 55-59 at 3.7% as against PCN (primary care network) average of 3.4% or the national average of 3.2%. People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services. For example, 86% of patients who responded to the National GP Patient Survey described their overall experience with the practice as good. This compares to the ICS (Integrated Care Systems) average of 79% and a national average of 75%. Also, 89% of respondents find the reception and administrative staff very helpful. This is against ICS average of 86% or the national average of 81%.

The practice provided care to local care homes, and feedback from these services was consistently positive.
