During a routine inspection
We found that patients were involved in their care. A patient said 'They always explain everything clearly to me, in a non-patronising way that I can understand'. Another patient told us 'I'm listened to and I'm given options about what I need'.
We saw that patients' records supported safe and effective clinical care. There were systems for managing patients' medicines safely and for ensuring investigation results were followed up. Patients expressed confidence in their care with one commenting 'My doctor is really good. I trust him and he is really approachable'.
We found that patients were seen and treated in a clean and hygienic environment. We also found that there were arrangements in place to assess and monitor the quality of service provided. We found changes were made in light of complaints and critical incidents.
However, we found that appropriate checks were not fully carried out before people started work to ensure they were of good character and to determine their fitness to carry out their role.
