Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 29 July 2025. Ferryview Health Centre GP Surgery is a GP practice that delivers services to approximately 32,000 patients at two sites under a contract held with NHS England. The National General Practice Profiles states that Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 3rd decile (3 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

This assessment was a follow up to an assessment in December 2024. We looked at 6 quality statements where at the previous assessment there had been breaches of CQC regulations. At this assessment, we found the following:

The service had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly. Staff managed medicines well and involved patients in planning any changes.

Patients were involved in assessments of their needs. Staff reviewed assessments taking account of patients communication, personal and health needs. Care was based on latest evidence and good practice.

There were clear governance processes at the surgery of which staff were aware. There was a culture of continuous improvement with staff given time and resources to try new ideas.

Since the last inspection in December 2024, the practice had made improvements and was no longer in breach of regulations 12 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

People's experience of this service

Patients were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the 2025 National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed patients were satisfied with services.
