We looked for evidence that staff involved people in decisions about their care and treatment and provided them advice and support. Staff regularly reviewed people’s care and worked with other services to achieve this.

We assessed one quality statement in the effective key question. At our last inspection, we rated this key question as Good. Following this inspection, the rating remains the same.

The service had improved how it delivered people’s care and treatment in line with legislation, evidence-based guidance and recognised best practice. Staff worked with people to ensure care reflected what mattered to them and supported safe and effective outcomes.

The service had strengthened its systems to support evidence-based practice. Staff had access to up-to-date clinical guidance and used this to inform decision-making. This included the recent introduction of updated National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) asthma guidelines, which had been shared with clinical teams and embedded into routine practice.

Clinical audits and reviews of significant events were used to monitor the quality of care and identify opportunities for improvement. Findings were discussed within clinical meetings, and actions were agreed to support ongoing learning and consistency in care delivery.

Staff were supported to keep their clinical practice up to date through training and regular updates on evidence-based guidance. This included structured updates on relevant NICE guidance and other national best practice recommendations. Clinical teams had access to shared resources and in-house learning sessions to ensure care delivery reflected current standards and supported safe, effective outcomes for people.
