Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

The practice always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.

The practice had arrangements to promote people’s privacy and dignity. The practice performed above the national averages in the results of the 2025 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people felt listened to and felt they were treated with kindness. For example:

  • 93% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at treating them with care and concern, compared to a national average of 86%.
  • 92% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at listening to them, compared to a national average of 87%.

This was mirrored in feedback collected during our inspection with patients providing a variety of examples when practice staff had gone above and beyond their role, including examples when staff had taken additional time to calm and reassure patients when facing difficult and complex health challenges.
