During an inspection looking at part of the service

We found improvements had been made since the last inspection. Staff had completed safeguarding training and were knowledgeable about protecting vulnerable people from the risk of harm and abuse. Staff had information about who to contact if they had safeguarding concerns. Comments from staff included, 'The training was very helpful and all the staff in the practice went together' and 'I found the majority was common sense. It's just knowing what to look for and we have all the numbers we need now.'

During a routine inspection

We carried out this announced inspection because at the time of registration the provider had told us that they were not compliant in some outcome areas.

We spoke with two patients who were pleased with the service they received from the practice. Comments included:

'I'm absolutely over the moon with ours [doctor], absolutely brilliant.'

'I've been with him a long, long while and he's been spot on and supportive.'

We saw that the practice was located on one level and had a disabled toilet, breast feeding facilities and had taken steps to accommodate peoples' privacy should this be required.

We spoke with the practice manager, the reception team and the doctor who had all attended safeguarding training. However all staff were uncertain of how to escalate concerns through the local safeguarding team should they suspect that someone was a victim of abuse.
