Equity in access
The service made sure patients could access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it.
National GP Patient Survey data collected between January and March 2025 showed higher than average patient satisfaction when respondents were asked their views on access. 90.7% of respondents responded positively to their overall experience of contacting the GP practice (the national average was 69.9%) and 84.5% of respondents responded positively when asked how easy it was to contact the GP practice by telephone (the national average was 52.9%).
We reviewed the practice’s appointments system during our site visit on 6 May 2026 and found there were appointments available for GP (urgent and routine) and nurse appointments for the following day (7 May 2026).
The practice was situated on the first floor of the building. There was a lift to the first floor, and automatic doors to ensure ease of access to the service.
Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who were most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes. They tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.
Staff treated patients equally and without discrimination. Leaders proactively sought ways to address any barriers to improving patients’ experience and worked with local services to address any local health inequalities.
Double appointments were offered to patients who may require them, such as patients requiring translation services or autistic people. Patients with a learning disability had continuity of care as appointments were usually booked with the same GP. Carers attended appointments with patients where appropriate.
Staff understood the importance of providing an inclusive approach to care and made adjustments to support equity in people’s experience and outcomes. Staff followed processes to ensure people could register at the service, including those in vulnerable circumstances such as homeless people and Travellers. We reviewed feedback from patients collected by the provider which was positive about the service.
