Effective

Requires improvement

Updated 14 August 2026

This means we looked for evidence that people’s care, treatment and support achieved good outcomes and promoted a good quality of life, based on best available evidence.

At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has changed to requires improvement.

We found several areas that needed improving. Handover of information between staff could be improved. Records did not demonstrate regular one to one key working between staff and residents. Liaison with external services could have been better documented. We identified improvements were needed to the recording of mental capacity assessments and recording resident’s capacity in relation to certain decisions. This had been identified as a priority area for improvement by the service, who had a plan in place to improve practice.

The service did not demonstrate a consistent or structured approach to monitoring outcomes. None of the care and treatment records reviewed showed completed outcome measures.

However, we also found areas of good practice. Staff developed individual care plans which were reviewed regularly through multidisciplinary discussion and updated as needed. Staff provided care and treatment interventions to the residents and residents could exercise their own choice and control and independence in relation to their own treatment. Staff supported residents to live healthier lives, where possible.
