At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained as good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect and involved as partners in their care.

Staff involved residents in care planning and risk assessment and actively sought their feedback on the quality of care provided. Staff informed and involved families and carers appropriately. Staff ensured that resident’s communication needs were met and adjustments made for residents with a disability. Staff ensured that resident’s exercised independence and control over their care and treatment decisions. Most staff treated residents with compassion, kindness and respected their privacy and dignity.

We did find some areas for improvement. Staff did not always respond to changing risks to, or posed by, residents and not all residents felt that staff could meet all of their identified needs.
