During an inspection looking at part of the service

People we spoke with told us that their relatives were well supported by the provider. They told us that staff were polite and respectful and got along with them well. One person told us "My relative has a good rapport with all the staff, and they always listen and ensure their comfort.'

People's needs were assessed and the care provided was planned and delivered in line with their individual support plan.

We saw that the provider needed to make a number of improvements to ensure care staff attended people's homes on the agreed day and or time to deliver care and to ensure care staff were adequately assessed and supported so they are physically able to carry out their caring role following sickness or disability.

During a routine inspection

People who used this provider told us that they were supported in promoting their independence and community involvement. One person we spoke with said 'they always involve my relative when they provide support'. Another said 'they opened my eyes to good care which always took account of personal needs.' People's needs were assessed and the care provided was planned and delivered in line with their individual support plan. We saw that support plans and risk assessments which included personal and environmental risk assessments regarding people's welfare and safety had been rewritten recently and had dates for future reviews.

We saw that the provider needed to make a number of improvements to ensure support plans reflected the specific needs of people that received a service, people that used the service were protected from abuse and carers received appropriate training.
