During a routine inspection
The person's relative told us they were both 'completely and absolutely' involved in decisions about the care provided. We saw evidence that the person was supported to access the community regularly.
The person who used the service told us that the staff member was "good at helping me." They had a care plan, which included guidelines for maintaining their safety and welfare. Staff had training in emergency first aid.
The staff member was able to describe ways in which they supported the person to maintain appropriate standards of hygiene. There were infection control policies and staff had training on infection control and food hygiene.
The manager provided staff support through supervision sessions and regular informal conversations. The staff member said they felt supported and had been enabled to achieve a relevant qualification.
Records of the person's care were maintained through logs completed at each visit. We saw that care plans and other records were up to date and regularly reviewed. Staff records were fit for purpose.
