Updated 17 July 2025

Date of assessment: 28 July to 12 August 2025. The service is a domiciliary care agency (DCA) registered to provide personal care. People were supported with their personal care needs to enable them to live in their own homes and promote their independence. At the time of the assessment the service supported 232 people with personal care.

This service is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, no personal care was provided to anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we considered the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture guidance during this inspection because it is registered as a specialist service for this population group. We found care was provided in line with this guidance.

We found details for some people’s mental capacity assessments, and staff knowledge of these, needed to be clearer. We found some aspects of medicines management needed improvement and some audits and checks on the quality and safety of services needed to be more robust. The provider took action during our inspection and identified the actions needed to make these improvements.

Staff looked to learn lessons from events and used this to improve people’s experiences of care. Transitions between different healthcare services worked well for people. People’s care needs and any associated risks were assessed and actions taken to help manage these safely. Steps were taken to ensure people’s communication needs were met.

Assessments of people’s care needs included relevant information from other health and social care professionals. Staff understood what actions to take to help monitor and improve people’s health and when to involve other healthcare services for reviews.

Staff were complimented for their caring approach and how they promoted people’s choices, involvement and independence. Leaders valued their staff team and worked to support their wellbeing.

Leaders aimed to ensure people’s care was fully person-centred by involving them throughout any decisions that needed to be made. Any changes to people’s needs were responded to quickly and referrals made to appropriate health and social care professionals. Leaders asked people and staff for their views and took action on what people told them. Actions were taken to help ensure people could access services and not be discriminated against.

Leaders were committed to providing high quality care and celebrating the achievements of people who used their services and staff who worked for them. Leaders worked to provide their staff teams with the support they needed to develop and be confident in their job roles. Staff were confident to raise any concerns with their leaders and felt they would be treated fairly.
