Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 5th August 2026.
The Christchurch Hall Surgery is a general practice in Haringey operated by the registered provider Dr Telesilla Gueret Wardle. It delivers services to approximately 2,800 people under a contract held with NHS England. It is part of the Haringey South West Primary Care Network, working closely with 3 other local GP services. Haringey is one of 13 boroughs covered by the NHS West and North London Integrated Care Board (ICB).
According to the latest available data, the ethnic make-up of the practice area is approximately 68% White, 10% Black, 7% Asian, 7% Mixed, and 7% Other. Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows deprivation within the practice population group is in the 6th decile (6th of 10). The higher the decile, the less deprived the local population is relative to others.
We last inspected and rated the practice under a previous methodology in August 2017. The overall rating for the practice was Good, as were the ratings for the five key questions, Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
We carried out this assessment using our new methodology as part of our Return to Good and Outstanding inspection programme, due to the length of time since our last assessment. The assessment focused on 10 of 34 quality statements across all 5 key questions. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the practice was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report. We have again rated the overall service and the 5 key questions as Good.
SAFE Staff kept facilities clean and maintained equipment appropriately to ensure people were kept safe. They assessed and managed the risk of infection well and took steps to control the risk of it spreading. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience.
EFFECTIVE Staff supported people to live healthier lives, monitoring their care and treatment to ensure they received positive and consistent outcomes.
CARING Staff treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion, and respected their privacy and dignity.
RESPONSIVE People could access care, treatment and support when they needed it. Leaders and staff were alert to discrimination and inequality that could disadvantage groups of people who used the service and sought ways to address any barriers.
WELL-LED The practice had a clear vision and strategy, which considered the needs of the people who used its service and the wider community. Staff understood their individual roles and responsibilities. Leaders accounted for the actions, behaviours and performance of staff through clear and effective governance processes.
People's experience of this service
As part of our assessment, we reviewed feedback from people registered with the practice to understand their views and experience of the service. This included direct feedback received from patients using our website. We also reviewed the latest available data and comments from the annual National GP Patient Survey (GPPS) and the Friends and Family Test (FFT), responses to which are collected monthly.
The feedback we received was generally very positive regarding patients’ experience of the service. People described how staff treated them with kindness and compassion. This was mirrored by the data of recent surveys, including the 2026 GPPS, based on feedback from 91 patients, and the results of the FFT between January 2025 and May 2026, with over 1,000 patient responses, which were very positive.
