All Inspections

17 April 2013

During a routine inspection

At the time of the inspection the agency was providing a supported living service to people with autistic and complex needs.

People were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. Staff respected people's privacy and dignity whilst encouraging their independence.

We reviewed one care plan which was person-centred. This person had a copy of their care plan and staff recorded daily care and handover notes.

Staff were well-trained and had undergone specific training in autistic spectrum disorders. A relative said 'X has a very good quality of life now.'

People who use the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. The agency sent out regular surveys to users of the service and their relatives. Relatives had written positive comments in two of the surveys which we reviewed. A person who used the service said 'I love my life at (home), I am really happy at (home).'
