During a routine inspection
We found that that registered persons had a good system for assessing, planning and delivering the care. People told us they had copies of their care plans in their home and that staff regularly consulted these. One person we spoke with told us they had been involved in the creation of the care plan and told us that the office staff always kept them informed of any changes to the care plan.
People told us if they needed any equipment to help them maintain their independence the staff members always knew how to use this equipment. Staff spoken with told us they were given training on any new equipment and care plans gave clear instructions on how this equipment should be used.
We found that the registered person had a satisfactory recruitment procedure. However they need to ensure all staff had suitable references before they start work. Records showed that not all staff had up to date training and the registered person advised us they were aware of this.
We found that the registered persons did not have effective systems in place to monitor and evaluate the quality of service they provided.
We found that the records held for each person were dis-organised and did not contain all the up to date relevant information.
