During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced, off-site inspection on 7 October 2025.
Where we carry out an offsite assessment, we undertake a detailed review of the practice risk assessments, policies, staff records and other relevant documents. We gather feedback from patients, staff and stakeholders (where relevant). We carry out a remote visual assessment of the premises and have discussions with staff.
We found the practice had met all regulations.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Angle House Whetstone is part of Angle House a dental group provider. The practice is in Whetstone, in the London Borough of Barnet and provides NHS and private orthodontic treatment to children and adults.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms.At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 13 staff, of which there were 3 orthodontists, 1 periodontist, 1 dental hygienist, 1 orthodontic therapist, 1 trainee orthodontic therapist, 5 dental nurses, of which 2 were trainees, and a practice manager. The dental nurses and practice manager covered reception duties.
We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 orthodontist, 1 dental nurse, and the practice manager. We also spoke with the organisations’ compliance manager.
