All Inspections

During a routine inspection

People were referred to the Bereavement Services Team for befriending following the bereavement of a person close to them. People who use the service understood the care and support choices available to them: they were able to specify preferences of a befriender's culture and language as appropriate.

We reviewed feedback survey forms which had been completed by people who use the service. One wrote 'Just talking to XXX (volunteer) and her listening to me has been very helpful.' And another, 'Someone who allows me to talk and makes me look forward to the future.'

People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

People were cared for by staff and volunteers who were supported to deliver care safely and to an appropriate standard.

The provider took account of complaints and comments to improve the service.
