During a routine inspection

We spoke with people using the service and the relatives of people using the service. One person said 'I can't fault the service; the manager runs a very tight ship'. People told us the staff treated them with respect and ensured their privacy and dignity was always preserved. They told us the staff always stayed at the house for the full allocated time and sometimes stayed longer if needed. People told us they had built a good relationship with all the staff that provided their care. One person said 'I have a good rapport with the staff they know exactly what care needs to be provided'.

We found that people's personal preferences and daily routines were recorded within their individual care plans. The care plans detailed people's individual care needs and the care plans were amended as and when people's needs changed.

We found that staff received regular support and supervision, and were provided with appropriate training to ensure they could do their work safely and effectively.

We saw that the provider carried out regular quality assurance surveys to give people using the service and their carers or relatives to comment on the service provided to so any areas for improvement were identified and implemented.

During a routine inspection

At the time of our visit we were informed that the agency was providing personal care to 15 people living in the community by a team of eight care staff.

We looked at the care plans and risk assessments for three people using the service and we carried out telephone surveys with staff and the family members of two people who used the service.

The representatives we spoke with told us they had been involved in setting up the care required from the agency. They also told us they had been provided with sufficient information about the agency and the services they provided. They told us they had regular meetings with the staff to discuss the care their relatives received.
