Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The registered provider must within 10 days of this condition taking effect and then on the first Monday of every month, undertake quality assurance audits at Florence House. You must then submit to us on the second Monday of every month a report of the findings of those audits. The report must include associated timescales for completing action points identified and indicate who will be responsible for ensuring the improvements are made in respect of the following:

All medicines administration and management practices against best practice guidance, to include protocols and ensure consistent medication processes are followed.

Risk management to include assessing the individual risks to each service user and ensuring appropriate risk assessment tools are in place with effective mitigating measures recorded.

Adherence to the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to include:
i) ensuring lawful consent for care and treatment and relevant capacity assessments and best interest decisions are in place as required.
ii) Oversight to ensure the assessment of service users care is in place to identify and monitor any deprivation of liberty which require a deprivation of liberty safeguarding applying for and ensure the applications are made and monitored.

Evidence you have reviewed your staff training and competency requirements to meet needs of service users’ and have provided the training to ensure needs are met, in line with best practice.

Evidence you have reviewed staffing levels to ensure there are sufficient, suitably qualified and experienced staff working to meet service users’ needs.

Completion of audits of service users’ records to ensure they have person centred and individualised care plans in place that holistically meets all their needs and provides staff with information to support those identified needs.

Completion of environmental and health and safety audits to include areas which pose a risk to service user health and safety, including for those who self-harm or have suicidal ideation.

Review of evacuation plans, ensuring they reflect service users’ needs, are practiced, to ensure you have appropriate measures in place to keep service users safe in event of emergency.

Ensure the care records are accurate, complete and contemporaneous in respect of service users, including details of health care professional’s consultations.

Evidence to ensure all events have appropriate incident forms, ABC charts, safeguarding referrals, lessons learnt are identified and they are reviewed by appropriate manager in a timely manner and learning is shared with appropriate staff.

Evidence to ensure monitoring of service users care takes place for such things as food, fluid, weight monitoring, and use of ABC charts, to identify themes and trends to ensure service users’ care meets their needs.

Evidence there is a governance system to give you oversight of how service is performing, including regular provider audits to assess, monitor and drive improvement and ensure the service being delivered is based on best practice guidance.

Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The registered provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require personal or nursing care at Florence House.

The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 27 service users at Florence House.
