This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
The service had a shared vision, strategy and culture. This was based on transparency, equity, equality, human rights, diversity, inclusion and engagement. Staff and leaders understood the challenges and the needs of people and their communities.
All staff had been involved in and contributed to the development of the service’s vision and strategy, which was kept under review and updated where necessary. Leaders monitored and reviewed progress against the delivery of their strategy. They were aware of local challenges which affected their service and worked with other agencies to address these challenges. Staff and leaders actively promoted equality and diversity and worked to identify and act on the causes of any workforce inequalities. They demonstrated a positive and compassionate listening culture that focused on learning and development. Staff told us they felt very well supported by leaders and peers and gave examples of flexibility and adapted work patterns to support their situation.
There was a patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service. Leaders held regular meetings with the PPG. However, representatives from the PPG felt the practice could do more to listen to and act upon their suggestions.
