Our view of the service

No 18 is a 'care home' that provides care and support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. The accomodation is spread over 2 adjacent properties. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. The service accommodates up to 3 people. On the day of the inspection 3 people were living at the home. We carried out our on-site assessment on 14 and 15 January 2024, off site assessment activity started on 10 January 2024 and ended on 30 January 2024. An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At our assessment we found No 18 were meeting the principles of Right support, right care, right culture. We looked at 7 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control; Equity in experiences and outcomes; Consent to care and treatment and Assessing needs;. At our last inspection the service was rated good. At this assessment the service remains good.
