All Inspections

7 December 2012 and 2 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We contacted five people who use the service to seek their views on the quality of their care. Everyone said they were treated with dignity and respect by their care workers. We found each person had been given information about the service and how much it would cost.

We spoke with four care workers. They told us they received training to help meet the needs of the people they supported. They said they had enough time to carry out required tasks during their visits. Care workers told us there was always someone at the office they could contact if they needed any advice or support.

There were robust systems in place to protect people from abuse. This included comprehensive safeguarding procedures and staff training. We found the service referred people to the local authority's safeguarding team appropriately, where there were concerns. Appropriate recruitment checks were undertaken before staff started working at the service.

People told us they had received information about making complaints. None of the people we spoke with had needed to make a formal complaint. One person told us they had not been happy with the time their care workers arrived. They had contacted the office and this was resolved satisfactorily. We saw evidence of formal complaints being fully investigated by the service.
