Updated 8 April 2025

This assessment took place between 16 April and 30 April 2025.

Civicare East Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing the regulated activity of personal care to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received the regulated activity of personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of our inspection there were 27 people using the service, of which 13 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care.

The service demonstrated strong person-centred leadership with a focus on delivering high quality of care for people using the service, employee wellbeing and high performance standards. The management team worked together with their staff team to embed good practice across the service.

People received safe care and support from staff who knew them well. Medicines were managed safely where required. Staff received appropriate training and support relevant to their roles. Risks to people had been assessed and guidance was available for staff to mitigate the risk of harm.

People's experience of the service

Updated 8 April 2025

People and relatives were extremely complimentary regarding the support they received from the service. People told us they were involved in planning their care and support and felt safe with staff supporting them. The service carried out a full assessment of people’s needs prior to them receiving care. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

People told us staff were kind, caring, treated them with respect. They told us they received their calls at the scheduled times and staff stayed for the duration of the planned call time. A person told us, “I have the same core group of staff, I have known them for a very long time, the longest I have known one carer for is 17 years. They are punctual when they visit.” A relative told us, “There are 5 or 6 staff on the rota, we know them all. They arrive on time and stay as long as they should.”
