During a routine inspection
People told us that the risks and benefits of treatment were explained to them in a way they could understand. Consent was not obtained in accordance with the provider's policy and procedures.
People told us they were provided with advice and guidance about weight loss medication and were made aware that medication needed to be taken together with a diet and exercise regime. People told us they understood that the medication was not licensed or recommended for the treatment of obesity. The doctor told us that they always discussed risks and benefits of the medication and acknowledged this was not always recorded on the treatment card.
People were made aware of the complaints process. This was provided in a format that met their needs.
