During a routine inspection
We saw that people were asked for their consent relating to the care they were provided with and we saw that people had signed their care plans and had signed consent relating to their medication.
People had care plans and risk management plans which were updated regularly and reflected the needs of the individuals who used the service. Staff knew the needs of residents well and were able to explain how they met individual needs.
People told us they felt safe in the service. Care staff had had training about protection of vulnerable adults and were aware of the ways to respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns. Medication was stored appropriately and the recording which related to the dispensation of medication was accurate and safe.
Staff had training in relevant areas including training specifically based on the needs of people who used the home. People were able to give their opinions and views about the service and the service developed as a result of this. There were regular residents' meetings and staff meetings. People and care staff felt able to raise concerns with management.
