During a routine inspection

We received many positive comments about Absolute Care Solutions from the people who used its services and their relatives. People appreciated the reliability of and consistency of the staff. People told us that staff had never missed a visit, that staff came at the expected time and provided good quality support to them. All told us they would recommend the service and frequently had.

Relatives told us the agency's staff were dependably and caring. One relative commented, 'They have never let us down or missed visits. On the odd occasion they run late due to traffic we always get a phone call'. Another stated. 'They're a small company and I think that helps, it's more or less the same people that visit my mother-in-law and that consistency is important for her. It means that staff get to know her and she gets to know them well'.

The manager of a retirement scheme told us, 'The staff that come to my three residents are always professional and polite, I've never had any negative feedback about them. They're spot on with their timing as we always hear them arriving at 6.30am every morning without fail'.

Staff we spoke with clearly enjoyed their job and told us they felt well supported in their work. One staff member who had had previous experience of managing other care services told us, 'It's one of the best services I've ever worked for, communication systems are great and staff induction is very thorough'.

We found that the provider was compliant in all outcome areas we assessed.

During an inspection in response to concerns

Absolute Care Solutions was a small agency that provided personal care in Cambridge city, the local towns and villages.

We spoke with two people who received care and two family members of people who received care from the agency. People were very happy with the care being provided and one person said, "I would definitely recommend them." One person told us, "I know people and what standards to expect and I can't fault them." People told us they knew their care workers and they were always on time.

We looked at three care plans, which were detailed and provided good information so that care staff could provide care.

The provider may find it useful to note that details of dates on many records were not provided, which meant it was not possible to check if the information we read was the most recent. However, since the agency was very small the current information available was easily discussed with the manager and evidence provided that information had been updated.
