Dates of assessment: 28 October to 7 November 2025. Nesfield Lodge is a residential care
home without nursing care. The service can accommodate up to 44 people in a purpose-built
building consisting of two floors. At the time of the assessment, there were 41 people living in
the service. We reviewed 5 quality statements across 3 key questions. We rated the service
good.
People had individual risk assessments in place so staff could identify and manage any risks
appropriately. Risk assessments were relevant to each person and promoted their safety, choice
and independence. Staff were able to recognise possible signs of abuse and know how to
protect such concerns promptly.
The service used digital systems to monitor and manage risks in real time, enabling staff to
make informed decisions quickly and tailor care to individual needs.
People were supported to receive consistently good care through skilled staff and a person-
centred approach that met people’s needs. For example, people received well-coordinated care
and support, delivered by regular staff which ensured continuity and a consistent approach to
meeting people’s needs. Systems were in place to protect people from risk of abuse.
Recruitment practices were safe. There were appropriate staffing levels and skills mix to make
sure people received consistently safe, good quality care that met their needs. Staff received
robust training and the appropriate support they needed to deliver safe care to people.
The service was easy to access and worked to eliminate discrimination. People received fair
and equitable care and treatment.
